About

Discover the transformative power of Dysport, an FDA-approved cosmetic injectable designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Similar to BOTOX, Dysport works by relaxing specific facial muscles, softening dynamic wrinkles caused by everyday expressions.

How is Dysport Different than BOTOX?

BOTOX and Dysport are both similar types of bolulinum Type A. They are both used to relax muscles that cause wrinkles and lines. BOTOX and Dyport use different unit systems. 1 unit of BOTOX is approximately equal to about 3 units of Dysport.

Commonly treated areas

BOTOX and Dysport are excellent options for patients who are looking to achieve a more youthful look without the commitment of plastic surgery.

The three most common treated areas are:

  • Glabella (vertical frown lines between the eyebrows): Usually requires about 20 units of BOTOX or 60 units of Dysport

  • Crow’s feet (lines around the eyes): Usually requires about 20 units of BOTOX (10 units on each side) or 60 units of Dysport

  • Forehead (horizontal lines across the forehead): Usually requires about 10-16 units of BOTOX or 30-48 units of Dysport

FAQs

  • These are commonly used in areas of facial expression – crow’s feet, furrows between our brows and forehead lines. Neurotoxins work by inhibiting the contraction of your muscle in and around those “problem areas.” Neurotoxins are great for not only smoothing and diminishing lines but also for preventing the increased intensity of those lines as we age. Neurotoxins can also be injected to help with pain in some areas, as well as increased sweating.

  • Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau are the 4 FDA approved brands we carry. You and your provider will decide which one is best for you. We do not carry Daxxify yet.

  • The medicine binds to a muscle nerve receptor site that blocks the nerve impulse to the muscle stopping or slowing the muscle movement. Over time, this causes wrinkles to diminish.

  • Not really, it feels like a small pinch or poke but is very well tolerated

  • No, not usually. You have been making these facial expressions since you were born. Resting lines/ static lines, refer to the lines or wrinkles that are visible even when there is no expression. These lines have been there longer and are deeper so they will not go away with one treatment, but they will soften over time.

  • Clients can expect resting lines to markedly improve by one year with treatment every 3 months.

  • Anyone over 18 who does not have allergy to certain medications, unstable medical conditions, MS (sometimes), myasthenia gravis or other neuro disease (can still consultation and allow provider to decide).

  • Some ppl cannot do forehead due to heavy eyelids, No pregnant or breastfeeding, no unstable or new neurologic disease. Be sure to screen for pregnancy or nursing as we do not do injections during these times.

  • 3 months is average for upper face and 6-8 weeks (about 2 months) for lower face. Dose equals duration.

  • This varies a ton anywhere between 20-70 depending on areas treated and units needed to achieve goals. You can tell them the average adult female needs around 50 units for the upper face alone.

    ● Glabella (between brows) typically 16-30 units

    ● Crow’s feet 14-28 units

    ● Forehead/Frontalis 8-18 units

    ● Lower face is 4-8 units per muscle system.

    ● Masseters are 20-80 u each

    ● Armpits are 30-100 u per side.

    ● Platysma bands (neck) 12 u per band or more

  • Not really. Do not sweat a ton or lift weights or hard core work out the day you have the injections. You can work out before but if you do it after you have the chance of sweating all your tox/aka money out of your face. Do not massage the area where tox was placed. Do not lay down on your face for 4 hours after. Normal makeup and face washing is fine. No massages or lasers/skin treatments around tox for 2 weeks after so plan accordingly.

  • Some people have Botox horns or bumps for a few minutes after. You can always bruise with a needle. Usually, a little redness for 20 minutes and you are fine.

  • No, tox takes several days to kick in. Full results in 2 weeks so plan accordingly.

  • No, tox cannot be reversed. Many times, adding more to a different muscle can make it improved.

  • Anything that is scaring you, text your injector. Anything with asymmetry we wait till 2 weeks to assess.

  • Onset of Dysport is 2-3 days, other toxins day 4-5 it starts but always 2 WEEKS FOR FINAL RESULTS!!

  • No, these medications have been around since the 90s and have been proven safe over and over
