Immediate Aftercare

  • Mild Swelling or Bruising: Some swelling, tenderness, or minor bruising at the injection site is normal and should resolve within a few days.

  • Avoid Touching or Scratching: Refrain from touching or scratching the area to prevent irritation or infection.

Activity Restrictions

  • Avoid Sexual Activity for 48 Hours: Allow time for healing by avoiding sexual activity, including intercourse, for at least 48 hours after the procedure.

  • No Heavy Exercise: Avoid strenuous exercise, especially activities involving the pelvic region, for 24–48 hours to minimize discomfort and support healing.

Hygiene and Care

  • Keep the Area Clean: Use gentle, unscented cleansers, and avoid any harsh soaps or chemical products around the injection site.

  • Avoid Tampons for 24 Hours: If needed, use sanitary pads instead of tampons to reduce the risk of irritation or infection.

Managing Discomfort

  • Over-the-Counter Pain Relief: If you experience mild soreness, you may use acetaminophen if approved by your provider. Avoid NSAIDs (like ibuprofen) in the first 48 hours, as they may interfere with PRP’s effectiveness.

  • Cool Compress (if needed): A cool compress can help reduce swelling or discomfort, but avoid placing ice directly on the skin.

Monitor for Potential Side Effects

  • Mild Side Effects (Normal): Mild swelling, bruising, and sensitivity in the area are common and typically subside within a few days.

  • Alert for Unusual Symptoms: If you experience severe pain, redness, fever, discharge, or spreading swelling, contact your provider, as these could indicate infection or an adverse reaction.

Expect Gradual Improvement

  • Be Patient with Results: The full effects of the O-Shot may take several weeks to develop, as collagen regeneration and sensitivity improvements occur gradually.

Follow-Up Care and Maintenance

  • Adhere to Follow-Up Schedule: Depending on your treatment plan, your provider may suggest follow-up sessions. Attend these appointments to monitor progress and maximize results.

Communicate with Your Provider

  • Contact for Any Concerns: If you experience any unexpected symptoms or discomfort, reach out to your healthcare provider promptly.
